Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about Devyzz.

The main difference lies in the exchange rate. A traditional bank typically applies a margin of 1% to 3% on each currency conversion, which is rarely communicated clearly before execution. Devyzz aims to significantly reduce this margin by offering you a more competitive exchange rate, which is known to you before you confirm any transaction.

In addition to this, there are additional banking fees that accumulate on each transaction: fix transfer fees, separate percentage fees on conversions, SWIFT document fees, etc. These typically range from €30 to €100 per transaction, depending on the bank, the amounts involved and the applicable conditions. These are costs that many businesses never really measure, and which Devyzz simply does not apply, as our only source of revenue is the exchange rate margin.

Devyzz offers simple, transparent and above all competitive pricing.

Your bank is a generalist provider: international payments and foreign exchange operations represent only a small part of its activity.

At Devyzz, this is our core business. We specialise in international payments and foreign exchange management for SMEs, mid-sized companies and private investors. This expertise translates concretely into:

  • Transparent and competitive exchange rates and fees
  • Direct access to our trading desk and a dedicated account manager
  • Personalised IBANs in over 30 currencies and more than 20 countries
  • International payments in over 140 currencies
  • Foreign exchange risk hedging solutions
  • FX trade finance lines of up to €7 million

Devyzz is not intended to replace your bank. We act as a complement, handling your international collections and payments, while your bank continues to manage your other day-to-day banking services.

Our objective: to simplify your international payments, reduce your foreign exchange costs, and provide you with the expertise and support you deserve to manage your international flows with confidence.

Neobanks are generally designed for individuals and low transaction volumes. Devyzz was built for businesses and investors who manage significant and regular foreign currency flows, sometimes with complex requirements.

This difference is reflected at several levels:

  • negotiated pricing conditions for professional transaction volumes
  • human, dedicated and expert support (rather than automated customer service)
  • solutions that neobanks generally do not offer: foreign exchange risk management tools, access to a trading desk, native management of over 140 currencies, and foreign currency financing, among others.

Yes. Devyzz is registered as a banking and payment services intermediary with ORIAS, a body supervised by the French Ministry of the Economy.

Devyzz never holds your funds directly. They are entrusted to our financial partners, leading regulated institutions supervised by the relevant authorities and subject to strict requirements regarding security, compliance and client fund protection.

Your funds are also held in segregated accounts, separate from the operational accounts of these institutions, ensuring full separation and protection.

Account opening typically takes between 24 and 72 hours, depending on the complexity of the application. The process is done online. It only takes a few minutes to complete the form and provide the required documents. If you have an urgent transaction to make upon opening, let us know: we will prioritise your application.

Here are the types of clients who typically benefit most from our services:

  • SMEs and mid-sized companies with regular foreign currency flows (from around €500,000 per year up to several hundred million).
Import/export companies or international groups with multiple subsidiaries, exposed both to major currencies and more exotic ones, with recurring needs for supplier payments, cash repatriation, or multi-currency flow management. Whether you are primarily looking to optimise your costs on spot transactions, build a structured foreign exchange risk management strategy to secure your margins, or access complementary solutions (multi-currency IBANs, foreign currency financing, etc.): Devyzz is made for you.
  • Private individuals with significant international needs.
Expats, international property investors, individuals making wealth transfers or significant one-off foreign currency transactions. We also support, through our Devyzz Sport brand, elite athletes with their international financial flows.
  • NGOs and humanitarian organisations.
Organisations that send funds internationally and are looking for a smoother, more transparent and more competitive solution than traditional banking channels, which are often costly and poorly suited to their specific needs.

International payments: everything you need to know to better manage them

The essential concepts to better manage your international payments and make informed decisions about your foreign exchange transactions.

Reducing the cost of international payments mainly comes down to two levers: the exchange rate and fees (transfer fees as well as additional charges). In most cases, it is the margins applied to currency conversions that represent the largest cost, far more than the visible fees.

Businesses can optimise these costs by using specialist international payment providers that offer more competitive exchange rates and full transparency on fees. The goal is simple: understand the true cost of each transaction before it is executed, and avoid the hidden margins often applied by banks.

Traditional banks typically apply a margin on the exchange rate, in addition to transfer fees. These margins are not always shown transparently, as they are often embedded directly into the exchange rate offered.

In practice, banks often remain the default choice for businesses, out of simplicity or habit. As a result, they do not always need to compete strongly on pricing transparency or competitiveness to retain their clients.

Pricing for foreign exchange transactions is often complex because it combines several components: various transfer fees, margins on the exchange rate, and often additional ancillary costs.

The main source of confusion is that the FX margin is not always clearly visible upfront before the transaction. In many cases, it is impossible to know the exact exchange rate that will be applied before confirming an international payment.

This pricing structure makes the true cost of an international payment less transparent for businesses and private investors.

A foreign currency account allows a business to hold, receive and send money in multiple foreign currencies without automatic conversion. This makes it easier to manage international payments and reduces the costs associated with repeated currency conversions.

The onboarding process depends on the provider chosen. Modern solutions such as Devyzz typically allow quick online account opening, following verification of the company and its beneficial owners.

Once opened, a foreign currency account can be used to receive payments from international clients, pay suppliers in their local currency, and better manage cross-border cash flows without systematically incurring FX conversion fees.

Foreign exchange risk refers to the impact of currency fluctuations on a company’s profitability. For example, a payment agreed in US dollars may cost more in euros if the exchange rate moves unfavourably between the time of the order and the time of payment.

Hedging against this risk involves locking in an exchange rate in advance in order to stabilise costs. This is particularly important for businesses with regular flows or tight margins.

Hedging can take different forms depending on the company’s needs and visibility over future cash flows. The objective is always the same: to reduce uncertainty linked to currency fluctuations and secure financial performance.
